Date of test: Dec 1, 2004
Type of performance test: 4-port raw driver throughput, Intel 82546 gigabit controller, 2-GHZ Intel Xeon platform
Platform:Linux 2.4.28, 2.8-GHZ Xeon, DDR2-400, Supermicro X6DAE-G2 (PCI-Express) mainboard, Intel E7525 system controller
Gigabit cards: Model 6267-SFP fiber 2-port PCI-X (two used for test, total 4-ports)
Frame size: 1500
Sustained throughput: 974.2MB/sec (7.79Gb)
Gigabit controller chip: Intel 82546 PCI-X (dual-port)

Description:  The following statistics show very high wire-speed bi-directional throughput over 4 ports running raw driver frame generator loopback test. Aggregate throughput is 974.2 MB/sec (7.79Gb/sec) sustained with approx 75% CPU utilization. Model 6267-SFP PCI-X Gigabit cards are used for this test which feature a PCI-X bus interface using Intel 82546 GbE controller and fiber SFP connectors. Unit under test is a 2.8-GHZ Intel Xeon (populated with single processor). Motherboard is Supermicro X6DAE-G2 which features DDR2-400 memory and Intel E7525 PCI-Express chipset.
