DSS Networks Announces Fourth Generation Dual Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-X Controller For Embedded Systems Applications.
Irvine, CA - July 29, 2002 -- DSS Networks announces yet another new addition to their expanding family of Gigabit Ethernet products
targeted for Embedded Broadband Network Applications.
GigMAC PCI-X Dual Port - Model 6162. This new board offers two ports of 10/100/1000 Base T Gigabit Ethernet over Copper and is fully
IEEE 802.3ab compliant. It is packaged in a 64-bit low profile PCI-X card measuring 2.5 by 6.6 inches and is suitable for embedded enclosures.
Industry standard high throughput PCI-X bus mode is supported up to 133 MHZ and is also backwards compatible with standard 32 or 64 bit PCI.
Dual onboard fully shielded RJ-45 connectors provide direction connection to CAT5 twisted pair cabling.
It is a highly integrated solution utilizing a fourth generation, ultra low power dual port integrated MAC-PHY PCI-X controller.
Power consumption is low utilizing about 2.6W total board power over both ports in Gigabit mode.
This product offers excellent performance and value with simultaneous dual-port capability on a single low-profile PCI-X card and includes optional
support for link failover and aggregation features. It is targeted for use in Data and Telecommunications products including Switches, Edge Routers,
Gateways, Servers and Internet Appliances. The controller board is well suited for support of embedded Broadband applications including Internet Voice,
Digital Video, IP security and Network Attached Storage. This product is now available and comes complete with a Software Development Kit including Linux
and VxWorks drivers.
